Farage: The Man Who Made Brexit

Two days before the UK leaves the European Union, Rogan Productions & Trumble Films go inside the world of the man who brought us Brexit; Nigel Farage. Tune into Channel 4 at 9pm on Wednesday 29 January to watch our latest film commissioned by Channel 4.

Farage: The Man Who Made Brexit captures the inside story of Farage’s doomed attempt to persuade Johnson to join a Leavers’ Alliance with him, a flirtation that quickly turns sour. There are threats and claims of bribery and bullying as “The Establishment” slams the door in his face with only his friend Donald Trump dramatically dialling in to fight his corner. This close-up portrait of the UK’s leading populist charts his influence in changing our politics, many would say for the worse, and is with him as the wheels come off his campaign in spectacular fashion. Allies and backers desert him in droves leaving him railing against “corruption” and claiming his opponents are jealous of his fame. With plummeting poll ratings, will this be the election that finally persuades Farage the UK will never buy what he is selling? Or can he claim victory with a brand new right-leaning government that supports much of what he stands for?

“Politics is about sales; its about selling hope, sometimes about selling fear”

Farage tells director Christian Trumble who filmed over five months with Britain’s most divisive politician as he attempts to build on his historic success in May’s European elections. His Brexit Party won more votes than the Conservatives and Labour combined but he now faces the prospect of Boris Johnson stealing his thunder.
