Stephen: The Murder That Changed a Nation to be repeated on BBC Two BBC iPlayer this June

This June, BBC Two will be repeating ‘Stephen: The Murder That Changed a Nation’, a three-part documentary series which examines one of the most notorious cases of 20th century Britain, the murder of 18-year-old black student, Stephen Lawrence by a group of white teenage boys. What ensued was one of the longest, most complex and mishandled murder investigations in the history of the Metropolitan Police; allowing the suspected killers to evade justice for nearly two decades.

This multi-award-winning series was directed by James Rogan, who was nominated for BAFTA in the ‘Best Factual Director’ category in 2018. The series was met with great critical acclaim, with 5* reviews across the board from The Times, The Telegraph, The Evening Standard, The Guardian & The Daily Mail, and after sparking national debate the films were also repurposed for BBC Teach – a classroom resource for teachers, with episodes covering topics of diversity, identity, institutional racism, democracy and justice.
