Subnormal receives Grierson nomination

We are absolutely delighted to announce that Subnormal: A British Scandal has been shortlisted for a Grierson award for Best History Documentary.

A massive well done to the excellent team behind the doc who helped make this happen.

The Channel 5 Best History Documentary category must be a single documentary, or an episode from a strand or series, on an historical subject. The Shortlist was announced on Thursday, 22 July and consisted of the following entries:

Damilola: The Boy Next Door, Acme Films – Channel 4
DeLorean: Back from the Future, A Fired Up Films Production for the BBC in association with Netflix, Pennebaker Hegedus Films, Northern Ireland Screen & eOne – BBC Two
Fear City: New York vs The Mafia – Episode 1, A RAW & Brillstein Entertainment Partners Production — Netflix
In Cold Blood, Darlow Smithson Productions – ITV
Nail Bomber: Manhunt, Expectation – Netflix
Once Upon a Time in Iraq – Episode 2, KEO Films – BBC Two
Silenced: The Hidden Story of Disabled Britain, Blast! Films – BBC Two
Subnormal: A British Scandal, Rogan Productions, Lammas Park & Turbine Studios – BBC One

Nominations will be announced Monday, 20 September and the awards ceremony will take place on Wednesday, 10 November at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, Southbank, London.
