Reporter Alison Holt and the team behind Crisis in Care: Who Cares & Who Pays, are back, continuing their investigation into Britain’s social care system. This time they focus on care homes which are owned by international investors.
Three of the UK’s biggest care home groups are, or have recently been, owned by private equity companies and carry significant amounts of debt. In tonight’s Panorama ‘Crisis in Care: Follow the Money’, the BBC’s Social Affairs Editor, Alison Holt, delves into the complicated structures of some of these companies and asks whether too much money is being taken out of the sector.
