Grenfell (W/T) traces the background and events leading up to the tragic Grenfell Tower Fire in June 2017. Drawing from evidence presented in the public inquiry and original journalism and research, the film will examine how a series of key factors, decisions and events in the years leading up to the fire culminated in an avoidable tragedy. It will also highlight the ongoing call for justice.

This film will explore how key decisions led to the tower becoming a threat to life, with fatal consequence. By understanding the ethical, financial and political issues that played into this story, the viewers will have a deeper understanding of the predicament of those at home on the night and those that came to try and save them.

The documentary will draw on evidence submitted and explored via the public inquiry, as well as our own research.

It will be narrative led, told by interviews with contributors who were directly impacted or involved with the fire, the events leading up to it, and the significant public inquiry that followed

Soleta Rogan, MD of Rogan Productions said: “We are immensely proud of the production team that has worked tirelessly to bring as many elements of the systemic failures to light as possible, and we are incredibly grateful to those affected by the tragedy in their various ways for sharing their stories and experiences with us.”

Olaide Sadiq, Director, Rogan Productions says: “It’s vital to convey the significance of the investigative findings, but we are equally committed to highlighting that Grenfell was a home—a place of comfort and safety for the residents – that was sadly compromised to the extent where people’s right to safety was stripped away. This film has been shaped by the voices of Grenfell’s bereaved and survivors, and those who fought for change long before the tragedy as well as after.”
