The 2019 RTS award nominations have been announced! Our BBC Panorama Can Violent Men Change?, a directional debut for Katie Hindley, has been nominated for the independent journalism award.
We’re extremely proud of our fantastic production team for their commitment to this important film, which has extraordinary access to the perpetrators of domestic violence. It’s a privilege for the film to have been recognised by this nomination. In particular we’d like to thank Director Katie Hindley, Jonathan Taylor, Roger Graef, Diana Martin, BBC Panorama and Media Stockade for their contributions.
The 2019 RTS Awards
This year’s ceremony will see awards given out in 19 categories including: News Coverage – Home; News Coverage – International; Daily News Programme of the Year; News Channel of the Year; Breaking News; News Technology; Current Affairs – Home; Current Affairs – International; Nations and Regions News; Nations and Regions Current Affairs; Nations and Regions Presenter of the Year (formally Regional Presenter of the Year); Scoop of the Year; Specialist Journalist of the Year; Young Talent of the Year; Television Journalist of the Year; Camera Operator of the Year; Network Presenter of the Year; The Independent Award and Interview of the Year. In addition, the Judges’ Award and the new Outstanding Contribution Award will be handed out at the discretion of the jury.The BBC leads the way with 24 nominations overall across 16 of the 20 categories, followed by Channel 4 with 12 nominations.
The awards span both news and current affairs, seek to recognise excellent creative journalism by organisations whose broadcasts are transmitted on a UK based platform or who create online video content from a UK production base. The awards ceremony will be hosted by celebrated British newsreader and television presenter Mary Nightingale on the 27th February at the London Hilton on Park Lane.
