Rogan Productions are looking for a talented freelance marketing professional to join their growing team on a part-time basis. Working closely with the Managing Director, the chosen candidate will be tasked with building a strategic marketing plan to develop the company brand and promote our upcoming films. This will include overseeing all aspects of PR, marketing and design and also working alongside the Brand Coordinator to develop a strategy for new business.

Job Description – Marketing & Social Media Manager

General/Brand Building

  • Creation and implementation of a strategic marketing and social media plan to support all Rogan Productions’ activity
  • Creation and implementation of promotion plans for all upcoming productions including PR, outreach, social media campaigns, microsites, award entries and production of digital assets

Branding & Content Creation

  • Creation of all marketing, copy, content and communications
  • Produce or manage production of all digital and print marketing materials for both internal and external use
  • Creation of e-newsletters to promote upcoming screenings and broadcasts
  • Support Brand Coordinator with production of content and communications for the commercial side of the business, including enewsletters and blog posts
  • Produce engaging and varied blog and news content to drive traffic to the website an to promote upcoming films

Lead Generation & New Business

  • Create and manage budget for advertising opportunities and campaigns
  • Manage and work alongside the Brand Coordinator to support new business sales
  • Maintain and develop Rogan’s existing database and make suggestions for lead generation to increase the size of the database
  • Work with Brand Coordinator to develop partnerships with new businesses and organisations to increase commercial sales and brand reach

Website & Digital Strategy 

  • Maintain and improve Rogan’s online presence (website and social media channels) 
  • Liaise with web developer to continually optimise the website in order to increase customer engagement including design, content and user experience 
  • Manage and update microsites for individual productions 
  • Create weekly social media calendars with planned activity and develop social media campaigns to increase brand awareness and promote upcoming productions 
  • Analyse website performance and produce monthly reports on all digital channels and planned activity 
PR 
  • Coordinate press and media coverage for Rogan Productions distribute new releases to media contacts both locally and nationally 
  • Take lead responsibility for the creation of press releases Build relationships with key industry journalists to gain national coverage for Rogan Productions
  • Generate positive endorsement of our films from key influencers (print, broadcast and online) to build brand awareness within broadcast and commercial industry 
  • Liaise with broadcaster PR departments to create a streamlined PR strategy for all upcoming productions 
  • Invite journalists and key industry individuals to review and attend previews of upcoming productions 

Personal Specification​​


Knowledge and experience 
  • Experience working as a Marketing Manager (3+ years) 
  • Experience working within the production industry or a keen interest/knowledge of the documentary production industry 
  • Experience creating successful social media campaigns 
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills 
  • An aptitude for innovative marketing and creative output 
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy 
  • Ability to adapt and to be self-sufficient 

Advantageous skills and knowledge 

  • Design experience – Knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite including Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign
  • Experience reporting using Google Analytics and Joomla 
  • Existing press experience
